F.E.A.R. is a video game available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. The game has been a favorite for many around the world and is available in 3 versions. All 3 of them feature a continuous story line, which simply goes on where the last stopped. The game definitely has a dark story as the main character is haunted by a little girl who grows up throughout the series. She becomes more powerful and has the ability to really freak you out from time to time.
In the first game, she isn’t all that scary, but could freak you out when she appears. Players can also expect to hear her from time to fine and find some interference with your viewing gear. For the most part, you will run around killing enemies, which comes in small groups of 5 or 6. This makes it really fun and rewarding with each group coming your way. This is one of the main reasons the game became so popular and enjoyable.
The second version of the game was a bit different and did not get as good reviews as the first. The little girl is no longer little and appears as a naked young woman in the game. She has a lot more power in the game as has the ability to attack you. This makes things a lot more interesting and scary as you move through the stages. She appears at completely random times and you won’t find 2 stages with the same attacks. The enemies are very much the same, but a bit smarter. One of the biggest downfalls they now appear in waves instead of groups, which means you need to kill a lot more of them at a time, pretty much the same as every other first person shooter game launched over the years.
The third game got even less impressive reviews from players. The third game was developed by another developer, who somehow lost what made this game impressive. It’s a lot of the second variation, as the enemies are the same, but you finally get to meet the man behind it all. He is also a ghost-like spirit, but with a lot more powers. The enemies through the game are trained by him to kill you. Players have the ability to play as him for some part of the game where you get to use his powers to wipe out the enemies.
The game graphics are excellent when you considered when the game was released. A lot of blood and gore is found in the game especially when using a shotgun at close range. There are also some new weapons the F.E.A.R. 3, which might not have the power you want, but watching enemies explode is never a waste for most.
The game sound is part of what makes it scary. Like many other horror games, the sound is used to build suspense and make you think twice before entering a room especially if you get static on your radio and a distance voice of the little girl.
